Dance and musical theatre tuition in Wilmslow, Stockport

Our dance classes are available for children from 3 years old through to adults.

For children, Aspinall Academy of Dance provides ballet, modern dance, tap, street dance and musical theatre classes. For adults, we also run a weekly jazz class.

We understand that for most children, dance is a hobby and the emphasis is to have fun, whilst improving useful life skills, such as coordination, posture and discipline. The pre-school dance classes are based around stories and imagery to stimulate creativity and encourage a love of movement and music.

Once our dance students progress to grade work, we follow the ISTD exam board for ballet, modern and tap dancing, whilst offering the opportunity for students to take regular exams, although they are not compulsory.

From grade 1 upwards, the exam students attend an additional coaching class to ensure they are fully prepared. There are also many opportunities to take part in shows and demonstrations.

Dance uniforms from Aspinall Academy of Dance:

We supply all of the uniform, which is on sale every Saturday morning of term time from 9am to 9:45am at The Guide Hall on Hawthorn Street, Wilmslow.

New students have a 'settling in' period of approximately four weeks before they need to wear the relevant uniform. It is important that they wear appropriate clothing, not only for their own safety but also to help the teacher see if their posture and movements are correct.
